Following the unexpected success of the medal of the Virgin of La Fuensanta, launched alongside our first silver collection, called Marea D' Argent, in collaboration with influencer Fuensanta Albaladejo, we wanted to innovate in this type of jewel with a very special Virgin for the Dosprimeras team, the Virgin of Joy. Very well-known among young people today, for its association with the protection of homes and marriages.
For this medal, Lucía Aquino, the brand's designer, wanted to maintain the XL size of the chain in order to give it that fashionable touch that transforms the medal into a trendy necklace, easy to combine with other pieces to join the *layering* trend. As Aquino mentions, "it is important that our pieces reflect current trends. However, we always try to strike a balance between classic and contemporary to create timeless jewelry that accompanies us through different stages of our lives and never goes out of style."
In terms of its design, it is a piece that features the hammered effect that so much identifies the brand's style and that transports us to the artisanal work behind each of our jewels. The image of the Virgin is carved in bas-relief in order to provide a differential and abstract touch to the jewel, and, finally, it features several copper-brown Czech crystals, the trendy shade of the season.
The brown color has undoubtedly been the trendy color of FW25, however, in our case, we have adapted it to a copper-brown. As Ana Iglesias, the brand's designer, points out, "these small variations of trends are due to our goal of creating timeless pieces. Copper-brown is a shade that provides a lot of light and is perfect for both winter and summer, when we look for lighter and more translucent colors."
